IT architecture consulting · data models · interfaces · vendor-independent

The expensive mistakes happen early — before the first line of code.

Which system, which data model, which interfaces — these points decide whether your IT grows with you in three years or holds you back. I set them right, from experience with systems for millions of records.

Why architecture comes first

A system is quick to build.
A badly planned one is only expensive to repair.

Most IT problems in SMEs are not programming errors but architecture errors: grown instead of planned, every island for itself, no shared data model. That comes back to bite you exactly when things are going well and everything ought to scale.

What bad architecture costs

Systems that don't talk to each other — and data that travels by hand. A data model that breaks under growth and makes everything slow. Dependence on one vendor or one person that you can no longer get out of. AI that can't dock on, because the foundation is missing.

Corporate scaling meets SME reality.

For over twelve years, in information management at the Witt-Gruppe / Otto Group, I built and supported systems for millions of records. I know what architecture means under load — and I know that an SME doesn't need a corporate construct, but a solution that fits its size.

This translation is exactly my work: applying the principles of large systems to the reality of your business — not more technology than necessary, but the right kind in the right place.

Frequently asked questions

What people ask before the architecture decision.

What does architecture consulting achieve before building?

The most expensive mistakes happen early — a data model that does not hold, a system choice that does not fit later. Setting the points right before money flows into code often saves a multiple of the consulting cost and prevents a rebuild after two years.

Do you advise vendor-independently?

Yes. No licences, no vendor commission — my recommendation follows your needs. Where standard software is the right thing, I say so, just as much as where custom pays off.

What qualifies you for it?

Over twelve years of database development in information management at the Witt-Gruppe / Otto Group — systems for millions of records. IT specialist (IHK), today daily practice with AI extension. I know corporate scaling and SME reality.

Does good architecture help with AI too?

Very much so. AI is only as good as the data it reaches. Clean data models and interfaces let AI dock on later in a targeted way, without a rebuild. Architecture is the groundwork that makes AI worthwhile.

Does it stay at consulting, or do you implement too?

Both, without pressure. You can take the consulting as a standalone and implement yourself or with others — or I build it. The recommendation never secures a follow-up job.
